The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Upstate chapter is holding their annual review of portfolios on April 12th, 2012 from 6-10pm. It is a good opportunity for those students with portfolios to get feedback and critique on presentation, the type of work and the depth of work you have to show to a potential employer. It's also a good opportunity for you to network and to meet people in the region you're looking to work in. There are three sessions being offered, Albany, Syracuse & Rochester. I came across this site last night and I wanted to share with you all the power of what web can do in the future. http://www.clicktorelease.com/code/ Many of the demos are using open frameworks, along with HTML5 and CSS3 to power the visualizations. If we can do many of the features we can see in code, the idea is that it takes less processing on your computer's part, and also not having to load large image/video/flash assets, which kill the download time for the site.
